Hi, I'm sorry for not updating this blog for a long period of time. I cant find any place to send my camera, to be repaired, and i cant use my phone's camera to snap any shots. So thus, i cant update this blog.
I want to share out, the idea of editing your pictures, after its taken. For me, i feel editing a picture, is an art and had to be done carefully in order, not to destroy the picture or make it looks so fake. These days many photographers and graphic artist uses editing to either make their shots much more interesting, to add more details, and also to cover our some spots which not meant to be there. Like models in a magazine. Their face aren't perfect, maybe there's a pimple here and there, or their eye colour does not match with their clothing, or even to make them look much more taller, or thinner.
My friend, Jason recently introduced to me Picasa, a free software by Google. Currently I'm using it, to edit my shots, not only to hide out bad spots, but also to make them much more "colourful" in a sense.
Here's some examples:
Edited picture. Look how it turns out to be. Much more live-lier and more much colourful, right?
The original one. It looks boring, despite it's the original shot.
Here's another:
I purposely make this picture dark, for the mysterious feeling. If this was a real car advertisement, it will make people wonder how this car looks like. NOTE: I left the word Nissan on top of it. Never forget that!
I admit this picture is waayy out, with the colours. But it gives the "wild" feeling to the car, and the surrounding.
Editing pictures also able to make the picture, feels much more classic. Like the picture above. Look at how i managed to transform a plain boring picture, into something more "vintage". It's like taking a document, or old paper, and soaking it inside coffee drink, and then the result is the document looks old. This function is great, when you snapping wedding photos. Oh and most cameras have this function too, its in the colours function, choose Sephia.
I really love how this picture turns out to be. For the original picture, i didn't use flash at all, fearing that with that the distance of the flash and the mug, will spoil the picture. After editing it, i manage to "insert" some light to the mug, and blur the small surrounding of the picture. But i think i might have blur-ed it a lot, though. So if you are scared to use flash at certain times, you can edit your picture, and insert them according to your own preference.
Same as the mug picture above, i did the same thing. Insert some "light" to it. But i choose not to overdo this picture, because it's just nice, and also to show, roughly how to edit your picture, without making it look too fake.
Conclusion is, editing can be a fun thing to do, or played with. If you haven't tried it out yet, then i suggest do try it. It can improve your shots, and also create some creativity in your shots. But don't do it all the time, because you might not improve in taking better shots next time, and you cant improve as a photographer, but improve as a graphic artist :P
